Astronaut captures Banks Peninsula 
An astronaut on the International Space Station has used new technology to capture an image of Banks Peninsula from 400km above the Earth.
These images were taken by Dutch physician and astronaut Andre Kuipers.
The relative speed of the space station usually means photos taken from space are blurry, but Kuipers used a motorised camera, or Nightpod, to compensate for the speed.
Kuipers uploaded the image of Banks Peninsula to his Twitter account, adding, "Christchurch, New Zealand. Great place for adventure."
He will spend 191 days aboard the space station, and his expedition is due to end on July 1, 2012.
